Orgasm
The department of visual communication design at Hongik University regularly invites designers to hold seminars for students. In 2016, there was a seminar by graphic designer Min-jae Huh. When she studied in London, she questioned the women’s orgasm that people are reluctant to comment on and usually considered as a taboo to mention. With a lot of interests in this phenomenon, she conducted various design experiments related to women's orgasm.
I created a graphic poster using typography, inspired by the question, "Why are women's orgasm reluctant to mention compared to that of men?" At first, I simply create typography of “Orgasm” using erotic and volumic effects, but I accidentally discovered that it makes the message more clear when the whole text is slightly bent and repeated symmetrically. This poster was selected as the Excellent Work at Tokyo Type Directors Club Annual Awards 2016 and included in the 28th annual catalog of Tokyo TDC.
