Adieu Colette
Colette, opened in 1997 on Saint-Honoré Street in Paris, was a boutique where many kinds of collaboration with brands or artists happen on a weekly basis. It had been my favorite place in Paris that helped me broaden my taste and knowledge of fashion and design industry. Leaving behind the past 20 years of a meaningful journey, Colette closed its door on December 21 in 2017 with the retirement of its founder Colette Roussaux.
What had been particularly attractive to me as a graphic designer was Colette's symbol consisting of two blue circles. I found that the symbol is an ideal and successful example of the flexible identity which expands its visual expression infinitely depending on the collaborators while maintaining its shape and color.
To celebrate Colette's last moment, I designed a moving poster, describing the two circles of the symbol as a blue moon and its reflection on the water.
